Jie daugiausia naudojami nuolatinės srovės suvirinimui, nuolatinė srovė su neigiamu ir teigiamu anglinio plieno, nerūdijančio plieno, nikelio ir titano poliškumu ir specialiu kintamosios srovės suvirinimo būdu (pvz., plonu aliuminiu ir medžiagos storis mažesnis nei 1,5 mm).
